United Way of Greater Portland (UWGP) is pleased to announce a Request for Proposals “UWGP RFP” seeking to fund programs, initiatives, or collaborations in Greater Portland (Cumberland County with the exception of Brunswick and Harpswell) that begin to make measurable progress on one or more of Thrive2027’s three community-wide goals. Thrive2027, our community’s new collective vision for how to make our region even stronger for everyone who calls it home, are three ten-year goals created by and for the community. United Way of Greater Portland announced that since the launch of its volunteer website on Friday, June 14, over 700 individuals submitted applications to volunteer to support those seeking asylum in Portland.
