United Way of Greater Portland is celebrating its 25th Annual Day of Caring on May 18 with a poster contest that highlights the value of working together to care for and strengthen our community. Day of Caring is an annual day of service sponsored by United Way of Greater Portland. More than 1,000 volunteers from local businesses and schools spend the day working on more than 75 projects including painting, trail clearing, gardening, organizing, and reading with kids.
United Way of Greater Portland (UWGP) is pleased to announce a Request for Proposals “UWGP RFP” seeking to fund programs, initiatives, or collaborations in Greater Portland (Cumberland County with the exception of Brunswick and Harpswell) that begin to make measurable progress on one or more of Thrive2027’s three community-wide goals. Thrive2027, our community’s new collective vision for how to make our region even stronger for everyone who calls it home, are three ten-year goals created by and for the community. Applications are due on March 17, 2017.
