THRIVE2027 WEBINAR BUILDING RESILIENT FAMILY & CHILDREN
Interested in learning more about the work of Thrive2027 and Goal 1? Join us for a free webinar on Thursday, October 10, from Noon – 1:00 p.m.
One of the major ways children develop resilience is through safe, stable, and nurturing relationships. These relationships help provide a buffer against stressful or toxic childhood experiences and can help children build skills that are critical not just to coping, but to thriving despite big challenges. The power of one strong adult relationship is a key ingredient in resilience. Join us and consider how you can align with Thrive2027 and “be the ONE” for a child in our community!

SOUTHERN MAINE REENTRY RESOURCE AND JOB FAIR
The 5th annual Southern Maine Reentry Resource and Job Fair will take place on Friday, October 25, from 10 am-Noon at the Portland Public Library. Experienced volunteers are needed for Career Advising rooms. Career Advising Rooms allow attendees time to ask questions, have their resume reviewed, test out their “pitch”, learn about the available services and employers in the Fair room, and generally get advice while getting comfortable with the space. Volunteers will meet 1:1 with attendees, with support from Resource Specialists, to help with more specific questions. The Fair is open to all job and resource-seekers, with a special focus on those reentering the workforce from incarceration/ or who have had interactions with the criminal justice system. FMI email volunteer@unitedwaygp.org.
