Get your taxes prepared for free with CA$H Greater Portland
CA$H Greater Portland, an initiative of United Way of Southern Maine in partnership with the Greater Portland community, will be launching its 2022 free tax preparation service this February with three options to prioritize the health and safety of our tax filers, IRS-certified volunteers, partners, and staff.

OPTION 1
Visit getyourrefund.org/gpmaine to start your online intake process. You’ll answer a series of questions, upload documents, receive phone calls from our team, and e-sign before we e-file your return.
OPTION 2
File your own taxes (with access to helpline support) at myfreetaxes.com.
OPTION 3
No mobile device or computer? No problem! Beginning in February, mask up and visit one of our Scan & Go Sites to pick up an intake packet, and then return to have your documents scanned into GetYourRefund. You’ll receive phone calls from our team and then return to sign off before we e-file your return.
Be Prepared for Tax Prep
Filers are encouraged to prepare by gathering identification and tax documents. This year it is especially important to save any letters from the IRS about economic impact payments and the Advance Child Tax Credit if applicable to your household.
Scan and Go Sites
Tax intake packets can be picked up and clients can return (with spouse, if married filing jointly) to have information scanned in when Scan & Go sites are open. No appointment necessary; hours for individual sites below. Information subject to change.
