2018 6 Who Care Awards

Who are the most dedicated and inspiring volunteers in our community? Honor one of them by nominating him or her for 6 Who Care, an annual recognition opportunity made possible by NEWS CENTER Maine, TD Bank, Dead River Company, and United Way of Greater Portland. There will be six award winners this year, including the Mary Rines Thompson Award winner, a person who epitomizes the spirit of volunteerism, and the Agency of Distinction, an outstanding nonprofit agency. Winners are presented with a cash award to be donated to the nonprofit of their choice in addition to having their story told on NEWS CENTER Maine during the fall.

Note: Volunteers in the NEWS CENTER Maine viewing area are eligible to be nominated for a 6 Who Care Award. Adult members of the community may submit nominations. Mary Rines Thompson Award nominees must have completed at least five years of volunteer service. Agencies may “self-nominate” for the Agency of Distinction Award.

Nominations should be submitted online or returned to United Way of Greater Portland, One Canal Plaza, Suite 300, P.O. Box 15200, Portland, ME 04112 by 5 p.m. on Friday, July 27, 2018. Winners will be honored on Monday, October 15, 2018 at the 6 Who Care Awards Ceremony.
