WELCOME MULTILINGUAL FAMILIES TO PORTLAND PUBLIC SCHOOLS

Show support to multilingual families in our schools and community! The Multilingual and Multicultural Center (MLMC) at Portland Public Schools seeks volunteers for their annual Back to School Fair on Saturday, September 16 from 1-4pm at the East End Community School, 195 North Street in Portland. Community partners provide various resources, while MLMC staff provides school system information and helps to translate. Volunteers will assist with set up (starting at 11am) and clean up (ending around 5pm), register and direct parents, manage food stations, and help the YMCA watch children. LEAD ACTIVITIES OR HELP WITH HOME¬WORK AT A BOYS AND GIRLS CLUBHOUSE

The Boys and Girls Clubs of Southern Maine seeks volunteer support for a variety of week¬day afternoon and evening activities in their Portland, South Portland, Riverton Park, and Sagamore Village Clubhouses. From providing homework help to music lessons, coaching debate or monitoring the weight rooms or art rooms, there are many opportunities to share your skills with the kids who spend time at the Clubhouses. PROCESS CLOTHING DONATIONS AT THREADS OF HOPE

HELP WITH FARM CHORES AT THE MSSPA

The Maine State Society for the Protection of Animals (MSSPA) in Windham seeks volunteers who enjoy being on a farm in order to help abused and neglected horses.
