SUPPORT CLEAN WATER EDUCATION BY VOLUNTEERING AT THE URBAN RUNOFF
Spend this year’s Earth Day volunteering at the Cumberland County Soil and Water Conservation District’s 6th Annual Urban Runoff on Saturday, April 22. Help register race participants, direct runners, or hand out water to support clean water education programs in the Greater Portland and Saco areas. Click here for shift details and to sign up. CARE FOR A GREENHOUSE
Love to take care of plants? Looking for an important and meaningful way to give back to the Portland community while pursuing a favorite hobby? Volunteer as the master gardener for The Children’s Museum & Theatre! Come water and provide care for the Museum & Theatre’s greenhouse and raised beds at least once a week. This will help maintain a living classroom for Museum & Theatre visitors to learn about plants, gardening, and healthy eating. WALK CHILDREN TO EAST END COMMUNITY SCHOOL OR RIVERTON ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
Looking for a great new way to get in a healthy dose of exercise and fresh air and connect with the community? Interested in helping kids and improving safety? Both East End Community School and Riverton Elementary School are looking for volunteer Walk Leaders to share one or two walks a week through the Walking School Bus program.
