UWGP THRIVE2027 COMMUNITY PARTNER MEETINGS AND UPDATE

UWGP Thrive2027 Community Partner Meetings and Update

Join us to talk about next steps for Thrive2027, Greater Portland’s three 10-year goals.

This month, United Way of Greater Portland (UWGP) is launching its efforts to bring together businesses and organizations who are interested in taking an early, visible leadership role in this community effort that will impact everyone in Greater Portland over the next 10 years.

Community Partner Meeting Invitation
As a first step, UWGP will hold three Community Partner meetings to discuss Thrive2027’s newly adopted strategies and connect current work in the community to the Thrive2027 Goals. This work, whether from a business employee benefits program and community volunteer work, to a school, town, or non-profit’s programmatic efforts to help individuals and families, will help our community thrive. At these meetings, UWGP staff will review the Thrive2027 roadmap in detail. These meetings will result in businesses and organizations having a better understanding of how to align their current work with Thrive2027 as a Thrive2027 Community Partner. The meetings will also launch UWGP’s Fiscal Year 2019 community investment process.

We hope you will join us at one of the following meetings (all held at United Way of Greater Portland, 1 Canal Plaza, Suite 300, Portland 04101):

  • Friday, December 15 from 8:00 – 10:00 a.m.
  • Monday, December 18 from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m.
  • Thursday, December 21 from 12:30 – 2:30 p.m. (feel free to bring lunch)

Additional meeting added:

Please RSVP by January 15 to Jeri Chapman,

Invitation to Apply for Funding
UWGP will be opening its Fiscal Year 2019 community investment process (for investments awarded between July 1, 2018 – June 30, 2019) in January 2018 to programs, initiatives, or collaborations serving Greater Portland (Cumberland County with the exception of Brunswick and Harpswell) that will help to make measurable progress on the Thrive2027 10-year community-wide goals. Organizations considering whether to apply for funding are encouraged, but not required, to attend one of three Community Partner meetings mentioned above. Information about the investment process will be posted on the UWGP website in early January 2018.

Request to Confirm your Organization’s Thrive2027 Partnership

If you cannot attend one of the three December meetings but are interested in making progress on the Thrive2027 strategies:

  1. Review the Thrive2027 roadmap to get a snapshot of Thrive2027’s strategic direction.
  2. Email us indicating that you support the work of Thrive2027. If your organization is already a Thrive2027 Community Partner, or would like to incorporate its current work with Thrive2027, let us know what strategy (or strategies) your organization is interested in or is already working on.
  3. In your email, indicate who, along with their email address, we should contact to discuss next steps.

Once we have heard from you, we will add your organization to the list of Thrive2027 Community Partners and contact your company representative to discuss next steps.

Thrive2027 brings us together in new ways with the understanding that we cannot address complex issues in silos, and instead focus on solving problems through deliberate, coordinated community action. Together, we can align and activate people, processes, and resources for the highest impact.

We look forward to partnering with you.
