Week of Action: Job Support Webinar

Few people enjoy job interviews, but they’re a key part of the job search process. Join our volunteers on Monday, June 21 from 4-5pm for a fun virtual session to practice interview skills in a safe space. Volunteers will meet with participants 1:1 to ask a series of common interview questions and provide helpful feedback, tips, and a bit of coaching to ease any nerves. Individual support from volunteers will help participants gain valuable experience and knowledge to more successfully navigate the hiring process toward future employment. VOLUNTEERS NEEDED – MOCK INTERVIEWERS: Volunteer to help job seekers gain comfort with interviewing. We’re seeking volunteers with Human Resource or hiring manager experience to meet with community members seeking to practice and receive feedback on interviewing skills (and possibly supporting materials like resumes and/or LinkedIn profiles). Volunteers are asked to provide supportive and constructive feedback to participants. Volunteers will commit to a 30-minute, virtual 1:1 session with a job seeker during a Zoom event on Monday, June 21 from 4-5pm. This volunteer opportunity helps to ensure that individuals have the supports needed to access the workforce, a strategy of Thrive2027’s Goal 2 – ensuring that individuals and families in Cumberland County have the education, employment opportunities, and resources to achieve financial stability. Volunteers will receive a general UWGP Volunteer Orientation, as well as training specific to the coaching sessions as appropriate.
